The Equinox comes with a standard 3.4L overhead-valve V6 engine, making 185 horsepower and 210 ft-lb of torque. It's paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The top Sport model gets a 264-horsepower, 3.6L DOHC V6 and 6-speed automatic. Each of the four Equinox models--LS, LT, LTZ, and Sport--are available either in front-wheel drive or all-wheel-drive configuration.

The Equinox has a roomy interior with seating for five adults. The Multiflex rear seat is split 60/40 and will fold forward to extend the cargo space; it can also slide nearly eight inches fore or aft, and the front passenger seat folds forward for long items. With the back seat all the way forward and the seatbacks still up, there's an impressive 67.1 cubic feet of cargo space.
